DEBUT OF NEW HURACÁN BRINGS NEW LOOK TO COMPETITIVE LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO NORTH AMERICA

MONTEREY, Calif. (April 28, 2015) - The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America series will start an exciting new era as its 2015 season gets underway with the first two rounds May 1-3 at scenic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The North American series, in its third season, will debut various changes at the event. The biggest is the introduction of the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo car.
For the first time, the series is divided into two classes - one featuring the new Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo car and the other featuring the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo. After each race, there will be a podium for each class for Pro, Pro-Am and Amateur drivers.
This season will see the largest grids in Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America history, with a mix of returning and new drivers. A record field of 22 Lamborghinis will take on the 11-turn, 2.238-mile circuit that includes the “Corkscrew,” one of the most famous corner complexes in racing.
The returning field is led by returning two-time Pro Driver Champion and 2014 Pro-Am World Final Champion Kevin Conway with Prestige Performance. Formula One and FIA GT Championship veteran Enrique Bernoldi will co-drive with Conway in the new Huracán. Conway won two rounds last season en route to the North American title.
Also racing in the Huracán class is series veteran Tom O’Gara with his new team, O’Gara Motorsports, which will field five entries. Among the drivers competing for O’Gara include actor-racer Frankie Muniz and Canadian brothers Damon and Ryan Ockey.
Corey Lewis joins the Huracán class for a full season with Change Racing. Lewis and 2014 co-driver Aaron Povoledo won three of the last four rounds last season.
Povoledo has a new co-driver this season, series veteran Joe Courtney, in the No. 77 Musante Courtney Racing Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2.
STR, formerly Jota Corse Racing, will continue its presence in the series, fielding three cars between the two classes. Park Place Motorsports will make its debut with series newcomers and father-son duo Jim and Josh Norman.
AVID Motorsports will field one entry, with Nicholas Dickson co-driving with Angel Benitez Jr. Benitez, from Venezuela, is no stranger to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, having raced there the last three seasons in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA series. This will be Benitez’s debut in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America.
Mitchum Motorsports, the reigning Team Champions, will compete for another title with four entries in the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo class. The team’s drivers will include Dylan Murcott, who made his series debut last year in the season finale at Road Atlanta, Brandon Gdovic and Bryan Hixon.
There will be two 50-minute sprint races at Laguna Seca. Round 1 will start at 9:40 a.m. (PT) Saturday, May 2, with Round 2 at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, May 3. Two practices will take place Friday, May 1, with qualifying at 8 a.m. Saturday.
As part of a new partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Torque.TV) both races will be live streamed on four platforms: SQUADRACORSE.LAMBORGHINI.COM/EN/LIVE-USA, imsa.tv, torque.tv and radiolemans.com. Tape-delayed coverage of each event will air on CBS Sports Network in primetime on Wednesdays or weekends. The coverage will feature live commentary on both the broadcast and live streams.
The partnership is a big step forward for the series as it expands its coverage in its third season. Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America also has a dedicated page on Sportscar365.com with in-depth coverage of the series, teams and drivers.
The Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo adopts the V10 direct injection engine mounted on the road car, managed by a Motec control unit that delivers a maximum output of 620 horsepower.

McLaren P2 by Rakesh

The McLaren P2 is a concept created by Rakesh Bag , a Student of The Aditya Birla Public School , Veraval , Gujarat from INDIA The styling of the McLaren P2 is more attractive and less clinical than the McLaren P1 , but you can bet your entire worldly possessions on the fact every last millimetre of the bodywork has been extensivley analysed in the windtunnel. The front is unique and original, the way lower part of the bumper flows back into the ‘C’ shaped headlights is inspired. And the P2’s rear end has got to be one of the best in the business. Stunning. “the McLaren P1 and P2 will be the result of 50 years of racing and road car heritage. Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with the McLaren P1 and P2 is to redefine it once again.” “Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit,” adds McLaren Automotive Managing Director Anton...

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini has already confirmed that the Sesto Elemento will indeed be headed to the production line, albeit in a very limited run. With such a minute number being produced, anyone would be hard-pressed to get know when Lamborghini is even actively selling it, let alone be able to grab hold of one of those units. The task of purchasing an Elemento got even harder as a high-end dealership in La Jolla, just north of San Diego, confirmed that Lamborghini was already accepting orders for the car and that only three units were headed over to the United States. The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento will be offered at a princely sum and rumors suggest that payment will be taken Reventon-style, which means three equal payments of $300,000 or higher with the remainder being paid at the end of the deal. That kind of price tag will bring its owner a 570 HP V10 engine and a power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per HP. This allows the Sesto Elemento to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a sensational 2...
