Hennessey Venom GT

Hennessy are a well known and respected tuning outfit who are probably best known for producing high-horsepower upgrade kits for large displacement US muscle cars - although they actually offer performance products for several European and Japanese manufacturers too. Previously the company, which has been around since 1991, have stuck to making other manufacturers cars go faster. But with the Venom GT Hennessey are venturing into more of a manufacturer-style role. The car's still a donor - as evidenced by the recognizable Lotus Elise profile. However its not just a simple engine swap, there's been a significant change in the car's overall setup and dimensions. Hennessey Venom GT2

Hennessey Performance have just released a number of renderings which show the latest iteration of the their Lotus Elise based supercar. The original Venom GT from 2010 showed just what was possible given a decent donor car, an twin-turbocharged LS9 V8, and lots and lots of clever engineering. With the Venom GT2 Hennessey have raised their own, already stratospheric, performance bar, considerably, and also made a few alterations to the car’s exterior design. The Hennessey Venom GT2 is powered by a 7.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 which produces a mind-blowing 1,500 + horsepower. In addition a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission appears in the options list. Hennessey are keeping any additional details to themselves for the time being.
