It has a unique sculpted aerodynamic shape, styled with innovative materials and architecture that stands out from most of the current production of Peugeot. The Peugeot 908 RC was a concept was first seen at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. The luxurious 2+2 Peugeot 908 RC is powered by a 5.5 litre twin turboV12 developing 700 horsepower and 885 lb/ft of torque. The same engine was used in Peugeot's 908 race car for the le Mans 24 hour race in 2007. Styling of the 908 RC concept is not dissimilar to the Peugeot 907supercar concept of late 2004. The RC concept was designed at the Peugeot Style Centre. Intended as a true enthusiasts car, the real innovation lay in the fact that the car was designed as an "affordable" sports car. The Peugeot RC was the concept car that paved the way for the 2008 Peugeot RC HYmotion4 concept. Peugeot used the 2002 RC concept to compare performance and economy differences between comparable petrol and diesel engines. As an affordable sports car the RC had to deliver not only in terms of price, but there was the engine, the size and running costs, as well as driver comforts to consider. At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show Peugeot unveiled the SR1 concept car. The SR1 was an incredibly important concept for Peugeot as it showcased an all new design language for the company - one which eventually permeated throughout the entire model range. Peugeot's previous styling language was inspired by the feline form, but the SR1 appears to have a more technical and engineering orientated influence - and the results are fantastic! Just check out some of the more discreet styling touches like the wing mirror supports which thread through the a-pillars, and the sublime contours of the door panel. Peugeot is gearing up for a hectic 2014 Paris Motor Show the only way it knows how. Weeks after announcing that it would display a “re-imagined” version of the Exalt Concept in Paris, the French automaker followed that up by releasing details surrounding its other Paris-bound prototype, the Quartz Concept. Unlike the Exalt Concept sedan, the automaker developed the Quartz Concept to serve as a preview of its SUV lineup.
