Ultima GTR720

The Ultima GTR720 is a world record breaking supercar manufactured in the UK. Available either pre-built or as a self-build kit, the Ultima GTR is really the benchmark for home-build sports cars. The '720' in the title refers to horsepower. Prior to the GTR720's introduction Ultima's top spec model was the GTR640, also a world record breaker. Power comes from a mid-mounted 6.3 litre Chevrolet V8 driving the rear wheels through a 5 speed gearbox. In July 2006, an Ultima GTR720 set four new speed records for a road car, breaking Ultima's own records. In road going form, with road tires, a GTR720 driven by Richard Marlow (Ultima's director) set the fastest 0-60 mph time (2.6 seconds), the fastest 0-100 mph time (5.3 seconds), the fastest 100 mph - 0 time (3.6 seconds), and the fastest 0-100 mph and back down to 0 again (9.4 seconds). This puts the Ultima GTR720 ahead of legendary supercars like the Mclaren F1, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT and Pagani Zonda F f...

Ultima Can-Am

Ultima, one of the UK's top self-assembly supercar manufacturers, now makes the Ultima Can-Am, in component form, available to enthusiasts in the United States. Supplied straight from the factory in the UK, customers will benefit from technical support during their supercar build project. The Ultima Can-Am takes its inspiration from the mid-engined racers that competed in the American Can-Am series during the Sixties and Seventies. The Ultima Can-Am represents a modern interpretation of these amazing machines, but with substantially increased levels of interior comfort and finish, making the Can-Am suitable for road as well as track use. Central to every Can-Am is Ultima's race-proven spaceframe chassis which, mated to purpose-built independent suspension and custom designed parts throughout, offers a level of handling and road-holding far beyond any conventional road car. Power is provided by a mid-mounted Chevrolet V8 engine mated to a five or six-speed Porsche transaxle. ...

Ultima GTR640

The '640' in the Ultima GTR640's name refers to power output, 640 horsepower. And because of the combination of a lightweight chassis and an extremely powerful engine, the GTR640 has set several speed records. In July 2006, a 720 horsepower Ultima GTR, the GTR720, set four new speed records for a road car. In road going form, with road tires, it set the fastest 0-60 mph time (2.6 seconds), the fastest 0-100 mph time (5.3 seconds), the fastest 100 mph - 0 time (3.6 seconds), and the fastest 0-100 mph and back down to 0 again (9.4 seconds). This puts the Ultima GTR720 ahead of legendary supercars like the Mclaren F1, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT and Pagani Zonda F for accelaration and breaking performance.

Ultima GTR

The road legal race car Ultima GTR went through fourteen months of research and development before being launched in 1999. This extensive R+D ensured the low-volume supercar delivered high levels of fit, finish and performance. The Ultima GTR is a supercar in every sense of the word, when coupled with the top spec engine available a maximum speed of over 200 miles per hour is possible. The GTR uses the chassis and suspension package previously road and race tested in Ultima's existing Sports model, the rest of the GTR required a comprehensive redesign. Aerodynamic efficiency is of significant importance on a car that is capable of over 200mph. Special attention was centred around lengthening the rear of the car to help clean up the airflow and improve downforce. The GTR's developments were fully tested at MIRA (the Motor Industry Research Association) where the group was so impressed by the results that it was happy to have the Ultima GTR as the centre of its show display at t...
