McLaren 12C Spider

Summer’s well and truly here. And what better way for a millionaire to celebrate than drop the top on his new McLaren MP4-12C. Trouble is that until today they would’ve need an angle grinder to do just that. Well put the power tools down Mr Monopoly because today McLaren have unveiled the convertible version of the MP4-12C. It’s called the 12C Spider and aside from the folding hardtop roof the cars are identical.
The McLaren 12C Spider uses the same carbon ‘MonoCell’ chassis as the MP4-12C, with literally no modifications as the chassis is so stiff it doesn’t require any extra strengthening despite the lack of a roof. The only concession for a convertible roof is a slight 40kg (88 lb) weight increase. Performance is only marginally affected too. Zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes the same 3.1 seconds as the fixed-roof car, however the 0-124 mph (0-200km/h) time is 0.2 seconds slower at 9.0 seconds, and the top speed is fractionally less at 204 mph (329 km/h).

Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.8-litre V8 twin turbo engine, which for the 2013 model year produces 616 horsepower in both the 12C Spider and the MP4-12C coupe. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a a 7 Speed SSG dual-clutch transmission with steering wheel mounted paddles.
The folding roof of the McLaren 12C Spider can be operated at speeds up to 19 mph (30 km/h). It takes 17 seconds to raise or lower. The roof is operated using a switch in the lower section of the centre console inside the cabin. Behind driver and passenger sits a rear windscreen which may also be electronically lowered and raised. With the roof lowered this acts as wind deflector to minimise disturbance to the occupants. With the roof raised the rear window can be lowered, allowing the V8 engine’s roar to be heard without rustling anyone’s hair-piece.
With the roof raised the vacant area underneath can be used as an additional luggage area which provides 52 litres of useful storage space.  The car comes as standard with bespoke luggage that has been designed specifically to fit this space.
The McLaren 12C Spider is available to order from today in 22 countries across the world.

McLaren P2 by Rakesh

The McLaren P2 is a concept created by Rakesh Bag , a Student of The Aditya Birla Public School , Veraval , Gujarat from INDIA The styling of the McLaren P2 is more attractive and less clinical than the McLaren P1 , but you can bet your entire worldly possessions on the fact every last millimetre of the bodywork has been extensivley analysed in the windtunnel. The front is unique and original, the way lower part of the bumper flows back into the ‘C’ shaped headlights is inspired. And the P2’s rear end has got to be one of the best in the business. Stunning. “the McLaren P1 and P2 will be the result of 50 years of racing and road car heritage. Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with the McLaren P1 and P2 is to redefine it once again.” “Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit,” adds McLaren Automotive Managing Director Anton...

Ferrari Millenio by Marko Petrovic

The Ferrari Millenio designed by Marko Petrovic (27-year-old Serbian designer), is a two-seater supercar concept that features ultra-light weight design with implemented high tech body materials. Inspired from the Ferrari World Park in Abu Dhabi, it features complex back-and-forth body surfaces, textures and materials. Unique about the Ferrari Millenio concept is its body structure made of Buckypaper, a thin sheet made from compressed carbon nanotubes, which is 10 times lighter and over 500 times stronger than steel. The concept feature two electric motors (one for every axle) which can be recharged via solar panels molded around the bodywork or through a traditional power point socket. 1947 - 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith

SPECIFICATIONS: year: 1947 - 1959 make: Rolls-Royce Model: Wraith Engine: Inline-6 Transmission: 4-Speed Manual Horsepower @ RPM: 135 Displacement: 4880 L The Silver Wraith, launched in 1947, was an evolution of the pre-war Wraith and was offered in the traditional chassis form ready for the fitting of Bespoke coachwork. The 4,257cc overhead-inlet, side-exhaust engine developed before the war was used, as well as a modified coil and wishbone independent front suspension. Hydraulic brakes were used for the first time on a Rolls-Royce with hydraulic brakes. Following their pre-war tradition of manufacturing a rolling-chassis only, Rolls-Royce delivered these cars to be bodied by independent coachbuilders. Some rationalization however was apparent because the sister model Bentley Mark VI incorporated into a 7 inches shorter frame the same major technical components. The Silver Wraith outlived the Mark VI and in fact survived until 1959 having been modernised step by step with vit...
